Hello Friends! My name is Blair and I have some things to say. Hence, Blairsays.
I am a gal who hails from the land of Bluegrass, Bourbon and Baseball Bats. Also known as Louisville, Kentucky. When I graduated from college I moved to Chicago, Illinois to pursue my passion for performing. I have called the Windy City home for over eleven years now (now I ask you, how did that happen?). There was a brief ten month stint where I lived with my husband in NYC…well actually Sunnyside, Queens, but otherwise i consider myself a Chicagoan by choice. I love Chicago. I think it might be the greatest city ever.
I have been married for almost four years to a gentleman named Jürgen, who despite the umlauts in his name doesn’t have a lick of German in him (he was just born there). He is also an actor.
We have two cats named Stanley and Toaster. Bringing them into my life made my heart grow three sizes.
I have tried my hand at blogging twice before. First when I was planning my wedding, and then when my husband and I moved to New York City only to have his job abruptly end.
I started singing when I was about nine years old, I began performing when I was twelve, and for my adult life have called myself an actor. Although I am currently reexamining what that means to me. I don’t have an answer yet. I will let you know when I do.
I love food. I love wine. I love cocktails. I love food, wine and cocktails all at the same time. I am not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I am an enthusiast. In my mind, every day would end with a glass of red wine and a bite of really good cheese.
I like to believe you can find adventure wherever you go. Currently I am working on cultivating a greater sense of adventure and exploration in my life. This is part of the reason why I started this blog. As a vehicle for discovery. We will see where it takes me.
All photos on this blog, unless otherwise noted, were taken by either Jürgen or myself. If they look really pretty he likely took them. He shoots with a Nikon D3100. Otherwise the photos come my my iPhone usually using the Hipstamatic app to make them a but more edgy.
